All days do come, after all...

I'm sitting here on a Saturday morning, my sinuses are acting up and I ran out of lemonade. However, I'm typing this with a cat between me and my keyboard, so that puts me in a jolly mood.

Well, yesterday marked the end of my first week of Senior year. Gotta say, it was way different than any other first week of school. This was my first time returning to the same high school a second year in a row, since I've been to three high schools so far. On my last two first days of schools, I just went to my class, and sat alone. I'm too shy to talk to anyone. This school has treated me differently though, and since I made a great number of friends my Junior year, the only ones I lost over the Summer were those that graduated, and those that moved. The hugs and greets you get on the first day feel so great, and you remember why schooling, for the most part, is the funnest part of most of our lives.

Regardless, yesterday was different. At Peoria High School, we have a special "Spirit Day" on the first Friday of school where we have to go all-out and come with a ridiculously spirited outfit colored in only green and gold. Despite the fact that I'm shy and I refuse to do things in public such as dancing and things meant to make you look stupid for the sake of comedy (I just don't feel comfortable doing it, just not my thing, personally), I came wearing caution tape around my wrists and neck, as well as this feather thing I bought from the dollar tree for 80 cents. My French teacher didn't look too surprised, because she saw my ridiculous Spirit Week outfits from last year. However, my Cub Links leader (I'm in Cub Links, a group that helps lowerclassmen get acquainted to high school life) ran into me and told me that she was proud of me and that I looked like the Lady Gaga of Spirit Week.

I'll take it!

There was a competition to see which guy and which girl was most spirited, and my English teacher told me she would like to see me win SOMETHING for my outfit. But I didn't, but hey, that's okay. I did what I wanted to do. If you've read my bio, you know that I'm ridiculously shy. Even at a school that I love and am 100% comfortable with, I can't talk to people I don't know, at all. I knew maybe 3 or 4 people in my new English class and they sat at other parts of the room, so I wore this ridiculous outfit to show that I'm not really that shy once I'm talked to, and it sort of worked, I've talked to some more people.

So, in short, I'm ready for my Senior year. I have a few goals, like getting a job and using the word "fortnight" in a sentence correctly, but other than that this year should be smooth sailing for me. I don't have a first hour, so I either ride the bus and hang out in my French teacher's room or I walk to school before 8:50, it's a good deal. Then I tutor French for French I students, and then at the end of the day I am, myself, in a French III honors class. I'll be becoming fluent in it after high school, probably.

I'll leave now. I have to do some research, if you know me, you know that I make lists out of a hobby, and I'll be posting those lists on here later so they're in some sort of blog database, my next list is the "Top 20 Gimmicks of the 90s", and that'll be a HARD list...
